EarlyRetireAbroad ("earlyretireabroad.com", "we") explains here what information the site handles when you visit.
Visit statistics
We count visits with Fathom Analytics. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you. It records the page viewed, the referring site, the country, and the browser and device type, in aggregate. It also counts some actions on the page, such as using a calculator or following an outbound link. See Fathom's privacy policy.
We also use Google Analytics to understand how pages are found and used. It sets cookies in your browser and records pages viewed, approximate location, and browser and device type. Google explains how it handles this data in its privacy policy, and you can opt out with Google's opt-out add-on.
What stays in your browser
If you pick a currency in the page header, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the next page shows the same currency. It is not sent to us. Numbers you type into calculators and checkers are worked out in your browser and are not sent to us.
Hosting
The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Links to other sites
Pages link to official sources and to services we mention. Some are affiliate links, marked as sponsored: when you follow one, the service you arrive at may set its own cookies to record the referral. Their privacy policies apply once you are on their sites. Links to travel brands are handled by a script from Travelpayouts, our affiliate network, which adds the referral code to those links and records clicks on them; see Travelpayouts' privacy policy. If you write to us, we keep your email address and message for as long as needed to answer and to correct the site. We do not sell or share them.
Advertising
The site does not show third-party advertising at the moment. If that changes, this page will name the advertising partner and the choices you have before it starts.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you. In practice that is email you sent us. Write to hello@earlyretireabroad.com.
Children
The site is not directed at people under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
